There is an energy in me that is awakening.
As I let it all wash over me yesterday… the realisation dawned. There is no need to force.
To brand.
I already have… and have just broken this piece out. Like an energy floating. Pure energy.
Why would I immediately lock it down again and box it?
It becomes a play space to evolve…
That is the nature of my being.
Gate 3 – The chaos creator. The new beginnings. The ultimate freedom seeker.
Gate 3 represents the Gate of Ordering – it is one of both pure child’s play, innocence, and at the same time can represents the deepest shadows of asserting control, or at least attempting to.
In its higher Gift state, it represents the gift of Innovation. The constant evolution that occurs at the core of who we are as humans – allowing ourselves and things to be impacted by the environment, rather than protecting or shielding from it.
I know this gate intimately as both my Conscious Earth (the core energy and environment of which you are nurtured, and what grounds you), and my business partner’s Conscious Sun (the dominant energy you primarily put out into the world.
(In fact, she actually has the full mutation channel 3-60 defined in her conscious and unconscious Sun).
It is also an energy heavily present in a number of clients and mentors that I have personally worked with.
Perhaps not a surprise given its placement in my conscious earth – that this energy is naturally attracted to me (or perhaps I am calling for it).
Indeed from the earliest I can remember in my career (back when I used to work in corporate), I always felt I thrived best in chaos.
I loved being thrust into situations in the deep end – and indeed there was no shortage of them, where I could dance and play, and in particular – play the role to bring order to Chaos.
And particularly in the energetic expression of the Gate 3 – this has to do with the ordering through innovation.
From an earlier life perspective, I can also recognise its reactive state – Disorderly and Rage present in my adolescent and early 20s – the bringing of Chaos in destructive ways. Before this energy had time to settle.
My business partner and I share interchanging energies because our conscious Sun & Earth are essentially flips of each other.
My conscious sun sits in the Gate 50 – Harmony, equilibrium. The gate of Values, and particularly – the upholding of core values (tribal, so within a community, or a group).
It is the gate known in the I-Ching as The Cauldron.
Gate 50 is her conscious earth (my partner’s). And as such the environment and energy that grounds and nourishes her.
I have many times observed this interesting interplay – how our energies mutually compliment and strengthen each others with our complimenting Sun & Earth gates..
But also how sometimes the shadow state can take over, and clash when one or both of us are operating in its shadows – For gate 3 – this is the shadow of control (attempting to control chaos), and for gate 50 – the shadow of over-responsibility & burden.
From Richard Rudd’s book – The Gene Keys, he says this about the shadow of Gate 3.
In order to evolve, a human being must embrace chaos rather
than try to protect against it.
The rollercoaster of business and entrepreneurship perhaps also explains why it has become an environment of where we both literally come alive and thrive.

Official name: The Gate of Ordering
I-Ching Hexagram: Difficulty in the beginning
Bodily Location: Sacral
Shadow State – Chaos – often showing up as the fear to change, control, and protection against chaos. The root of which is fear and the feeling of powerlessness associated with change.
Reactive state – Disordered (destructive, rage)
Repressed state – Anal (controlling)
Gift – Innovation – In recognising that change and evolution is inevitable, the release is what opens the core to be impacted by its environment to lead to new innovation (which by default will mean the introduction of new elements).
Siddhi – Innocence – At its purest level this is about the childlike innocence, and an open slate. Once we let go of holding onto the ‘mental’. It is a reminder that at its core, as humans our calling is to continue to play, experiment, explore – returning to that innocent state – which is what will ultimately continue to drive evolution.
