This week I got to experience the surreal slowing down.

This totally slowing down of the cells…breathing in. Imagining almost slowing down the speed of hair growth. An experience beautifully guided by my rest/nervous system teacher.

It felt like slow motion. And a deep inner feeling of safety and peace. Which was much needed.

I practiced it this morning as I woke up to the frazzleness of thoughts already starting to flood in. I could take some moments, which I know is luxurious – especially knowing my little one can wake any moment. I am extremely grateful that I can find these small moments of peace.

Simply sitting with myself and being.

I can feel things on the edges that are pulling at me, but then I simply sink in and let it be.

I know where I’m going. Broadly…

But the in between? I know now that the manifestation arrow tells me the universe is going to surprise.

Today I want to explore the general vs. specific manifestation.

A single variable in the HD chart. It is the bottom right arrow that is at the top of your Human Design chart.

This is a variable without a lot of information available.

Broadly speaking, how to interpret these arrows is whether you see things through specific lens or peripheral.

But primarily it determines whether you are a “specific” or “general” manifestor – when it comes to your goals, and relates to your perspective, and particularly the trajectory it follows.

I have a Right-Facing arrow & Possibilities perspective, which follows the line 2 tone – there is a flow-ness and hope, and magic in being able to see possibilities in anything.

These arrows have been commonly interpreted amongst many Human Design teachers and experts as type of ‘manifestation’.

What it means is that it determines your most flowing form of manifestation – and how you can keep your energy unblocked.

Left-facing perspective arrow —> Specific Perspective & Specific Manifestation

Right-facing perspective arrow —> Broad/peripheral perspective and General Manifestation.

For Left facing (specific manifestation), this means that the clearer you are on the destination, vision, 5 year plan, goals, whatever that may look like – the more accelerated you will be driven towards the manifestation of that.

All of the common visualisation theories – theatre of the mind, day in the life, they work powerfully for specific manifestation energy.

I have clients that both carry energy in their defined will centre as well as having this specific manifestation arrow. And I can see that playing out in the way they operate.

I have personally always struggled with these visualisation exercises. They felt somehow restricting and artificial, rather than the powerful feel it was supposed to give.

And after discovering Human Design, and slowly letting go of what ‘should’ – there was more and more an increasing feeling of freedom to feel into what was truly right for me.

I work better with affirmations that give me a general ‘feeling’, and support me into “being”.

I realise now – that by design, I am meant to be in flow.

It is not that I don’t have visualisation. In fact, the core of my work is based in vision.

But I now also realise, that the 1 page vision is in fact a compass – and north star, that serves not as a restrictive vision, but something with room and flow.

It’s a living foundation, grounding in simply discovering who you are, and allowing space for that projection to manifest.

It can become specific or general depending on need (and for whom), and there is plenty of room for that to be.

I let go of all of the external goals I set in the early days of my business (still carrying that ‘specific manifestation’ energy carried over from my corporate days. Goals. Targets. That I can see now only clouded and restricted possibility on what is truly meant for me.

And simply focus on the feeling and direction.

So the Right facing perspective arrow means a general manifestation.

It means that you need to allow room to play and for universe to do its magic.

Forcing rigid visions on exactly the flow and outcome of how it must look, does not work

My distraction perspective is probability.

This means that in that state of possibility, I can sometimes sink into the place, or distraction can come of wanting to calculate probability out of a need of certainty.

In Human Design, there’s always an awareness of an opposite pull — a recognition that your core energy can be drawn toward its opposite expression.

Specific to perspective – Ra in his original lectures, refers to this pull as “distraction”.

He himself holds the “Personal” perspective, which the distraction of “Power”.

Ra seems to talk about this concept of distractions as a sometimes positive thing, helping to shake ourselves out of our internal views, and to broader.

For me, I can interpret my distraction perspective of probability as something that is grounding – that can help me bring back to the ground this energy of endless possibilities

The eternal optimist that is in me, that always sees the good and possible in people and situations.

So with all that – here is a cheat sheet to guide your own interpretation:

Left vs. Right — What Do the Directions Mean?

Arrow DirectionPerspective TypeManifestation StyleEnergy Theme
Left-FacingSpecificSpecific ManifestationFocused, planned, detailed
Right-FacingPeripheralGeneral ManifestationFlowy, open, intuitive

Best practices for left facing perspective/manifestation arrow

  • Create detailed visions and clear goals
  • “Day in the life” visualisations = potent magic
  • Vision boards, 5-year plans, step-by-step intentions

Alignment Looks Like:

  • Feeling activated by structure
  • A clear path and checkpoints light you up
  • You call in exactly what you see

Caution:

  • If you try to “go with the flow,” it might feel murky
  • You thrive with clarity

Best practices for right facing perspective/manifestation arrows

  • Be broad, spacious, open
  • Let the universe surprise and delight you
  • Focus on the feeling, the direction, not the specifics

Alignment Looks Like:

  • Manifesting through trust and openness
  • Vision as a compass, not a map
  • Flowing, intuitive nudges lead the way

Caution:

  • Rigid goals or forced visualisations can block your flow
  • Let go of needing to know how—your gift is in dancing with the unknown

Final Notes

  • Your perspective arrow doesn’t limit you—it frees you.
  • It helps you understand how to unblock your manifestation energy and stop forcing what’s not yours.
  • When in flow, manifestation becomes a natural byproduct of aligned seeing and being.

What is your perspective arrow, and does it point right or left? What is your experience with self vision/visualisation and manifestation that you have felt through your life with this lens?
