Over the years, I’ve started countless brands, blogs, and business ventures—always with the intention of service.
But never under my own name. Until now.

Too many roles. Too many platforms. Too many should…
Underneath it all, your identity starts to blur.
I call this business fragmentation – and it’s more common than you think.
The Antidote? Reclaiming the ONE THING that ties it all together: You.

Full transcript:
Hello, and welcome to this very first episode of this podcast. I am Angela. I’m a strategist, coach, a guide for founders and creatives building meaningful businesses from inside out. Whether it is solo reflections or deep conversations about the business journey in growth or soulful evolution, we’re going to be exploring what all that really means to own your voice, your value, your vision in work and in life.
So let’s dive in. Now, today, this is the first, um, the first day that I’ve really, I would say claimed the name for this episode fully claimed it under my own, brand of Angela Tsai and. I wanted to say that I had faced a lot of conflict when I was trying to come up with a name.
And, you know, over the years I’ve created multiple different brands, multiple different blogs, multiple different Instagrams, nothing really under my own name. And I guess there was always a part of me that’s like, well, it has to be useful to people, but it meant that because, well under human design, I’m actually a manifesting generator and I have like tons and tons of different things all going at once.
That it started to become quickly very fragmented because every one of these brands require its own, support system and strategy and foundation and all kinds of things in, in terms of bringing that to life and driving that consistently forward. And it was almost like I was kind of not confronting the fact that the, the central.
Thing that was pulling that all together was essentially me. So today I wanted to speak about this topic of fragmentation,
And in this episode, which is essentially all about what is it that you bring to the table? And I wanted to address this topic around fragmentation that we experience throughout our careers, throughout our business journey, throughout our lives, especially when we start to feel that our identity is being pulled in multiple different directions.
So seven years ago, this was now in 2018 I created Grow Your Brand with Impact, which has gone through its own soul searching journey, its evolution to really get to the core of what this was always about, which was essentially coming back down and igniting people’s true core value. Helping them to have that monetized rewardingly through market connection and essentially start to really live that courage of.
Walking their own path and building, a business that is around what is their true passion and their core purpose in life. So about. Igniting people’s true core values. So it was always about, getting back into alignment, getting back into why you are truly unique. last year I, published in my book Awaken You In in a Diamond.
And again, this was about like going back into the core, why are you so unique and pulling that out and then looking at what does that actually then, mean and stand out to in the world. But as the business started to grow and it, it grew as a collaboration because, many of you that are listening to this, you’ll probably know that I have a, a business partner that I work with who was also, my best friend of 25 years or so.
And it grew as a collaboration very early on journey, and I found myself starting. quite early on starting to wonder again, you know, have I actually lost my way? Because when we start businesses, we often don’t have yet a very clear view of who we are actually in business. And quite often we’ve started business coming from a path where there was something very structured.
So either we were playing some sort of a role either in life, in our work. even if you came out and you started, when you’re studying, you’re still sort of trying to find your feet in terms of knowing who you truly are, and especially in my case, and I know that’s gonna be the case. I’ll resonate with many of you that you started this having left a corporate job where it was very defined.
Everything was sort of given to you in terms of what people tell you that you are, how people have defined you in terms of your value and. And we’ve kind of really lost ourselves in being able to know what is our true core value and who we actually are beyond all of these external labels that have been kind of given to us over the years and added on, and added on, and added on.
So how often do we stop and ask ourselves, what is it that we want in this journey, in this business? In life, what is it that is going to make you feel truly fulfilled? And who are we really? And what is the true value that we’re bringing to the world? And who would we be without the collaboration?
the brand name that you’ve labeled in front of you, the team, the partners, the people around you. What is it that you, yourself, as an individual bring to the table? So quite symbolic in this is why I’ve probably landed on simply naming this podcast, under my name Angela Tsai, and, all geared towards talking about, soulful business and personal evolution.
So the message and encouragement. In this episode to you is really start to ask some of these questions to yourself. What does it mean to you to really start to claim the, for you to be able to step into that? Now, many years ago I was having an interview for a new job. It was one of these high prestige, consulting companies, and I remember I really, really wanted the job.
it was one that I truly put all my heart and soul into the application process, and I was just so happy when I got the call. For a telephone interview, initial screening, and I remember on the call I was asked about examples of projects that are, in work where I’ve been able to demonstrate certain experiences based on the examples.
The interviewer was asking me, and I rambled off projects. I rambled off different examples of workplace situations, and then the interviewer actually cut me off. He interrupted me. He said, you know, you keep saying we, and you keep saying us, like this is what we did and this is what, this is what happened to us and this was the result,
But what did you do? I’m not interested in what you did as a team. I’m interested in what you did, which makes total sense, right? Because he wasn’t hiring. My colleagues, he was hiring me so. That really made me pause and it’s something that, you know, continues to come back. Like how have we ever stopped?
How often do we stop and realize how often we tend to hide behind the word we, and in some ways using the word we has a positive angle. It shows that we value collaboration and we, acknowledge the power of teamwork, of shared impact. When you have a collective of people coming together bring certain energy.
But to what extent are we actually hiding behind it to the point that we Lose the view of what is the true value that we ourselves, as individuals bring to the table. And often because we may not feel fully confident enough to stand under our own power. And this is especially important even in teams, even in partnerships.
Even in collaborations. Even if you are the CEO of a team, and you’re leading this team and you wanna represent the whole collective, if you do not fully know. Truly who you are and what you bring to the table, then how will you be able to show up in full? And bring that full value, with your full potential to whatever team, partnership, collaboration that you have.
this episode, again, it’s starting to just challenge around that question, who are you, what is your true value? And start a conversation around it. And I wanted to leave you, with. Two exercises on this super short episode, and these are all available through, a download, which is linked to my book, awaken Your Inner Diamond.
The first, is a variation of the Ikigai, exercise, and some of you will be familiar with that, but the Ikigai exercise, what I really like it is it starts to get you to start becoming conscious and thinking about the different. Strengths and the unique things that you bring to the table and how you uniquely are making a difference to people’s lives.
And start thinking about also purpose. Like what is the deeper meaning of this and how it all connects and how these different parts like intersect. So that’s a exercise that will be available through a, a download. there’s a few questions. It asks you, what are you, what are you great at? What do you love?
So thinking about the passion, it asks you what is it that you are appreciated for? So that is another way of framing the question, what you bring to the table and starting to write down, what is it that people have actually said that they appreciated about you uniquely in the past.
And starting to identify trends and patterns in that. And lastly then starting to write down what is it that. How all of this is actually making the world a better place. So this starts to then go into the question around impact and the question around what is the deeper, meaning of your purpose, here on this earth.
So. That’s the first one. And the second one that I wanna give to you is to, again, you know, start journaling down. Like write down somewhere in a book, somewhere in a notepad, somewhere in a, I have a Google Keep note where I, I write this. What are things that people have said about you in the past? So every time someone gives you a compliment, and I believe I got this from the book, I have to actually look up the name.Ah, yes, that’s it. Love yourself, like your life depends on it. So it’s written by a guy called Kamal Ravikant, and basically it’s starting to just write down, you know, what, compliments anytime that someone gives you a compliment, or anytime someone says like, oh my God, you know, you are so good at this.
write those words down somewhere so that you can actually go back and continue to go back and read that over and over and over again. ’cause quite often, you know, we have this. way of dismissing when someone gives us a positive comment or, thanks us for something. And we sort of brush it off and be like, oh yeah, you know, thank you so much.
And we almost act a little bit embarrassed in, in terms of that. So it’s about like really starting to claim that and starting to recognize the, the value that you truly. Because the more you start to become conscious of that value, the more you can start to really, essentially bring that into all the places, where you are interacting, collaborating with others, and be able to strengthen, that full value that you are bringing, onto the table as a result of that.
So that’s it for this episode. I hope you enjoyed it and I’ll see you for the next one.
